اصول نمبر1:
ایک سے نو تک کے نمبروں کو words میں لکھیں:
Aslam has two brothers and three sisters.

اصول نمبر2:
اگر نمبر sentence کےشروع میں ہو تو نمبر کو words میں لکھیں:
Fifty injured persons were brought to the hospital.
Five thousand new vacancies of teachers are to be filled soon.
البتہ سال کا نمبر figure میں لکھا جانا چاہیۓ:
2020 was a very difficult year due to Corona Virus.
1939 will be ever remembered due to outbreak of World War-II.
اصول نمبر2a:
دو words پر مشتمل نمبر اگر sentence کے شروع میں آۓ تو ہمیشہ ان کے درمیان hyphen (-) استعمال کریں:
Twenty-five miles of the road needs to be repaired.
Forty-two percent of teachers live near the city.

Sentences کے شروع میں آنے والی fractions کو words میں لکھیں:
One-fifth of the group comes from Europe.
Two-thirds of a gallon of water was poured in his water tank.
One and a half spoon of sugar is enough for one cup of tea.
Two-third of the land is covered by snow in northern areas.

اصول نمبر2c:
Sentence کے درمیان میں آنے والی fractions کو figures میں لکھیں:
She put 2¾ cups of water in the jug.
Mahmood mixed 1½ spoon of sugar in the tea.
اصول نمبر3:
Heading اور Title میں آنے والے نمبر figures میں لکھے جائیں تو بہتر ہے۔

مہینے کی تاریخ اور سال کو figures میں لکھیں۔

Amount اگر راؤنڈ ہوں تو words میں لکھیں اور اگر راؤنڈ نہ ہوں تو figure میں لکھیں:

اگر بڑے amount ہوں اور زیرو کا استعمال بہت ہوا ہو تو زیرو کی جگہ thousand, lac , crore, million, billion جیسے words استعمال کریں:
Rs.100,000 کی جگہ rupees one lac لکھیں۔
Rs.50,00,000 کی جگہ rupees fifty lac لکھیں۔
Rs.5,000,000 کی جگہ rupees five million لکھیں
اصول نمبر8:
اگر دو نمبر ایک ساتھ لکھنے ہوں تو جس نمبر کے words کم ہوں اسے words میں لکھیں اور دوسرے نمبر کو figure میں لکھیں:
There were three 14 year old students in the class.

اصول نمبر9:
اگر پیمائش measurementکے پیمانے units اختصار abbreviation میں استعمال ہوں جیسے centimeter کی جگہ cm, یا kilogram کی جگہ kg, تو figures کو استعمال کریں:
